Wyoming geologic maps available for downloading


Bedrock and surficial geologic maps published by the Wyoming State Geological Survey are available for download by using the interactive quadrangle index map on their website. The maps are also available for purchase in print or digital format at the Publications and Maps Store.   The maps were produced under the USGS StateMap program with 50:50 state and federal funds.

The Survey plans on adding 1:24,000 maps soon.

New officers for AASG



The Association of American State Geologists elected a new Executive Committee at its annual meeting in Deadwood, SD, in June.  The new Committee, which took over the reins of the Association on July 1, consists of:

Harvey Thorleifson (Minnesota), Past President

The new Executive Committee is energetic and enthusiastic about carrying on the work of the Association as we move forward into a new year.
