The Missouri Department of Natural Resources is seeking a
Deputy Director of the Missouri Geological Survey (MGS). As MGS
Deputy Director, the individual will serve as Director of the Water Resources
Center with responsibilities for administrative, managerial, technical and
fiscal oversight.
The Water Resources Center’s (WRC) responsibilities address
the development, conservation and utilization of the state’s water resources.
The WRC assists communities, public entities and state and federal agencies by
providing expert technical assistance and guidance on issues such as interstate
water management, drought and flood assessment, water resources planning and
monitoring, statewide water use, in-stream flow recommendations and dam
safety. The WRC’s responsibilities are carried out to ensure that the
quantity of the water resources of the state are maintained at the highest
level practicable to support present and future beneficial uses.
This is a senior level administrative and technical
managerial position in support of an organization with complex responsibilities
affecting public health, welfare and safety. This position works with
local, state and federal government agencies and private sector interests to
develop partnerships that align with mission objectives.
