Former Texas State Geologist Bill Fisher recently received the Petroleum History Institute's (PHI) most prestigious award, the 2010 "Colonel Edwin L. Drake, Legendary Oilman Award" for "his lifetime commitment, contributions and achievements in advancing petroleum geology and its application in industry, government and academia." The award was presented at the Honors and Awards Banquet held during PHI's 2010 annual Symposium on the History and Heritage of the Global Petroleum Industry and Associated Field Trips this year April 29 - 1 May in Lafayette, LA.
